Water supply pipe leakage monitoring and positioning system

System overview:

Used for water supply pipeline leakage point monitoring, positioning and management.
Through pipeline leakage detection and positioning instrument to collect leakage acoustic signals in real time, combined with the management of the Internet of Things platform, intelligent supervision and leakage repair can be realized. It can be paired with mobile phones, tablets, etc., and one map and one table can be used for management and maintenance.







System operation principle:

When a water supply pipeline leaks, the self-developed leakage sound sensor collects data from the outer wall of the pipe, valves, or fire hydrants. By using advanced leakage sound analysis algorithms, it automatically analyzes the pipeline leakage situation (including whether there is a leak and the exact location of the leak). The results are promptly displayed on the pipeline distribution map and communicated to users via terminals (such as the main control center interface and mobile phones), eliminating the need for manual intervention. The system automatically completes the leakage alarm and positioning.





Installation and use

1. Site investigation: determine the direction of pipeline by combining pipe network drawings and field investigation, confirm whether the surrounding environment is safe and the strength of network signal;
2. Equipment installation preparation: Set a special IP address, and record the installation location of the equipment and valve number through the APP;
Installation position and positioning (Figure 1): The probe is installed on the pipeline body through the pipeline direction, and the valve well down pipe wall position is preferred, followed by the valve, and then the fire hydrant.
Probe installation spacing: metal pipe probe spacing distance 1 0 0-150 meters. Non-metal pipe 50-70 meters. Ensure that adjacent probes are on the same pipeline.
Installation (Figure 2): Ensure the installation area is free of dirt, rust, and other contaminants. The probe should be tightly attached to the pipe surface to ensure optimal sound signal reception. Use the probes strong magnetic force to attach it to the metal pipe; for PE pipes, use a tie strap for secure placement. Automatic detection and alarm functions can be achieved through a mobile APP or PC.



     


Installation and use


4. Pipeline monitoring: it works automatically at night, collects pipeline noise signals at different times and uploads them to the platform; the monitoring cycle is 3-7 days.
5. System analysis: The acquired information is analyzed intelligently through the platform algorithm and conclusions are drawn;
6. Leak point positioning: The leak point can be accurately located within 2m range; (Considering the deviation of pipeline direction and depth, reduce the difficulty and cost of customer maintenance. After the platform confirms the location of the leak point, it is recommended to go to the leak point for verification to provide specific information for customer maintenance work;)
7. Excavation and repair: Excavate and repair the leakage points, and input the leakage points into the system platform;
8. Follow-up confirmation: after the repair, follow up to confirm whether the leakage point is completely repaired and other surrounding leakage points;
9. Information archiving: Archive missing data and repair information to form a historical database.
